Dr. Darrow Hand, N.D.
Dr. Darrow Hand, a naturopathic physician with 20 years of experience, enjoys seeing patients of all ages, from children to the elderly, and often finds effective ways of helping his patients get better. Dr. Hand can provide treatment for a wide range of health problems.
He was inspired by John Sarno MD, who healed people’s chronic back pain without drugs or surgery helping them to live normal lives again, pain-free. Dr. Hand also helps patients with acute and chronic musculoskeletal issues. He can help them recover from car accidents and other injuries and relieve pain naturally. He uses a variety of effective healing techniques, including Bowen Therapy and Craniosacral Therapy. Bowen and Craniosacral are relaxing physical therapies, effective for all ages. They consist of a series of gentle moves on the muscles and tendons, benefit a wide range of conditions including: musculoskeletal, gastrointestinal, respiratory and hormonal problems, and can have immediate effects. Also, consider having a session following a dental procedure.
Once while Dr. Hand was hiking, he met a woman having an asthmatic attack. She didn’t have her inhaler and asked for help. He performed the Bowen moves for asthma and she was able to hike out without a problem.
Dr. Hand has excellent counseling skills; he will listen to you with empathy and insight, inspiring hope and healing for you on your path to optimal health and wellness. Seeing people as holistic individuals, Dr. Hand takes a collaborative and comprehensive approach to healing.

- One size doesn’t fit all.
The conventional approach to chronic illness is to make a diagnosis based on obvious symptoms and treat symptoms categorically. At Massachusetts Bioidentical Hormones Clinic, Groton Wellness Medical Center, we are committed to a holistic, integrative, forward-thinking way to provide medical care tailored to each and every one of you. By integrating different types of wellness services and healing modalities, combined with evidence-based medical practice, we employ the knowledge and wisdom of healers of all time to get to the heart of your specific condition and considered care.
We are scientists who understand and can implement “allopathic,” western style medicine, but we are also healers who understand the value of many other modalities. In our integrative medical setting, a broad array of services can be provided to families and people of all ages. Our approach is to focus on assessing the performance of the basic physiologic functions of the body to determine why you carry a specific diagnosis or condition. This individualizes your healthcare rather than placing you in a standard, off-the-shelf, “one-size-fits-all” diagnostic category and treatment regimen.
- All for one and one for all.
With the use of innovative diagnostic modalities and the expertise of a group of providers utilizing different methods of healing, we offer a truly integrative and collaborative approach to your health problems/concerns. It is an approach that optimizes physiologic processes, reconstitutes your metabolism and re-balances/awakens your energy fields to help you achieve the highest level of functioning possible.
- Are you ready to feel fabulous?
To help you choose the best fit between your individual needs and our offerings, we are happy to provide a free consultation. During this meeting, your counselor will review your concerns, in depth. She or He will work together with you to discover the most effective means of meeting your goals, in terms of enhanced well being, attention to a particular condition, or recovery from illness. One thing you can count on: We will listen carefully to what you say and try to pinpoint the best approach to satisfying your purpose in coming to Groton Wellness.
About Groton Wellness
At Groton Wellness, we take a whole-person approach to hormone balance. We consider all of you, and we look for the root causes of any hormonal problem. Many hormone deficiencies or imbalances can be corrected through other lifestyle changes such as a healthy diet or reduction in stress. In addition, the body cannot metabolize hormones (even bioidentical/natural ones) correctly, if the liver detoxification function is impaired, the adrenal glands are fatigued, or the diet is nutritionally deficient. Our clinical assessment and laboratory testing are comprehensive, our recommendations are individualized, and our follow-up is thorough in order to guide you to better overall health, not just hormone balance.
